A Willing Heart Is Worth More Than Many Words

God is not merely looking for people who are interested in His blessings, but for hearts that are truly available for His will. Availability means surrender, sincerity, and obedience.

Devotional

It is possible to talk about God, desire things from God, and even be moved in His presence without truly being available to Him. True availability goes beyond words. It is revealed when the heart surrenders.

To be available is to say, “Lord, I do not only want what You can give me; I want to belong to You.” That kind of surrender changes the way we live, choose, and walk. It is no longer about fitting God into our plans, but about submitting our plans to God.

Many people desire comfort, answers, direction, and provision. All of that is legitimate. But a relationship with God cannot be reduced to self-interest. The Lord is not only seeking people who enjoy His presence, but servants who are willing to obey.

Availability requires honesty. It requires the heart to be examined. It requires us to abandon the attempt to bargain with God. The Christian life is not a religious transaction, but a loving and reverent surrender to the Lord.

When the heart is available, obedience stops feeling like a burden and becomes a response. God’s will stops feeling like a threat and becomes a safe path. A willing heart may not have all the answers, but it has already decided whom it belongs to.

God honors the sincerity of those who come before Him without masks, without bargaining, and without holding anything back.

Prayer

Lord, search my heart and remove from me everything that does not please You. Deliver me from a self-serving relationship with You and make me truly available for Your will. I want to serve You with sincerity and love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
