The true worshiper, God sees the heart
God is not looking for religious appearance. He is looking for truth in the heart of the person who comes to Him.
Simples Assim, Jesus begins with a calm and grounded presence: the devotional of the day, a public library, and a multilingual experience prepared from the start.
God is not looking for religious appearance. He is looking for truth in the heart of the person who comes to Him.
Devotional
When Jesus spoke with the Samaritan woman, He made it clear that God is not looking for worship based only on a place, a tradition, or outward form.
In John 4:23, Jesus says that the Father is seeking true worshipers.
And in the next verse, He shows that those worshipers worship Him in spirit and in truth.
That changes the way we understand life with God.
A lot of people focus on what can be seen: the right words, the right posture, the right image.
But God is not moved by appearances.
He sees the heart.
He knows the motive.
He knows when there is truth and when there is only form.
That is why coming before God is not about keeping up an image.
It is about living honestly before Him.
It is about recognizing who we are, opening our heart, and not hiding from God what He already fully knows.
Truth before God should not lead us to despair.
It should lead us to surrender.
Because the Lord is not looking for polished appearances.
He is looking for a true heart, willing to live before Him without a mask.
And that applies to more than worship.
It applies to prayer, to daily life, and to the whole way we walk with Him.
God does not want only the right words.
He wants truth deep within.
This is clear throughout Scripture.
In 1 Samuel 16:7, the Word says that people look at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
And in Jesus, this becomes even clearer, because He shows us that true worship begins on the inside.
Today, do not try to appear as something before God.
Be real.
That is what He is looking for.
Prayer
Lord, remove every empty appearance from me. Teach me to live before You with sincerity, truth, and reverence. Let my worship not be only in my words, but in a heart that is real before Your presence. Amen.
