More than knowing about Him
Knowing about Jesus matters, but eternal life is found in truly knowing Him and walking in relationship with Him.
Simples Assim, Jesus begins with a calm and grounded presence: the devotional of the day, a public library, and a multilingual experience prepared from the start.
Knowing about Jesus matters, but eternal life is found in truly knowing Him and walking in relationship with Him.
Devotional
Many people have heard about Jesus.
They know He healed people, taught with authority, died on the cross, and rose again. They know the stories, repeat the phrases, and may even recognize that He matters. But faith cannot stop at information.
In John 17:3, Jesus says: "And this is eternal life, that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
That shows us that knowing Jesus is not just having facts about Him. It means living in fellowship with Him. It means allowing His life to reach ours. It means letting His Word shape our heart and guide our steps.
In John 10:14, Jesus also says: “I am the good shepherd. I know My own, and My own know Me.” That kind of knowing comes from relationship. The shepherd knows the sheep because he walks with them, cares for them, and leads them. And the sheep know the shepherd because they learn to recognize his voice and trust his care.
That is what life with Christ looks like.
It is not enough to hear about Jesus from a distance. We need to come closer. Faith grows when Jesus stops being only a religious subject and becomes the One we walk with in real life.
Knowing Jesus changes the way we pray, make decisions, wait, and face hard days. Not because we suddenly have every answer, but because we know who is walking with us.
Today, do not stay only with what you have heard about Christ.
Come closer to Him.
Open your heart.
Let that relationship become life within you.
Prayer
Lord, I want to truly know You. I do not want to only know things about You. I want to walk with You every day. Teach me to hear Your voice, trust Your care, and live a real faith before You. Amen.
