Discern What Is True
Some words may sound spiritual and still lead the heart away from God’s truth.
Simples Assim, Jesus begins with a calm and grounded presence: the devotional of the day, a public library, and a multilingual experience prepared from the start.

Devotional
Jude warns about people who follow their own desires and cause division. In Jude 1:18-19, he says there would be those “who should walk after their own ungodly lusts,” and describes them as people who separate themselves, “sensual, having not the Spirit.”
This calls us to pay attention. A message can use God’s name and still lead the heart away from Him. Discernment grows as our lives remain grounded in the truth.
In 1 John 4:1, Scripture says, “believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.” The Bible teaches us to examine what we hear. This care should come from the desire to guard the heart before God.
Jesus prayed to the Father, “Sanctify them through thy truth. Thy word is truth” (John 17:17). God’s truth is established in His Word. It does not depend on the appearance of a message or the influence of the person speaking.
When we stay near God, we begin to see more clearly what does not reflect the character of Christ. Discernment matures when Scripture has a real place in our daily life.
Every day, we need to ask the Lord for an attentive heart. May He help us recognize what comes from Him and remain in the truth with humility.
Prayer
Lord, give us discernment. Guard our hearts from anything that leads us away from Your truth. Help us remain in Your Word and recognize what comes from You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
