Persevere in Love
Faith in Christ is also revealed in the way we keep loving when it requires surrender.
Simples Assim, Jesus begins with a calm and grounded presence: the devotional of the day, a public library, and a multilingual experience prepared from the start.
Faith in Christ is also revealed in the way we keep loving when it requires surrender.
Devotional
Jesus gave a clear mark for those who follow Him. In John 13:35, He said, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”
Before saying that, Jesus gave this commandment: “That ye love one another; as I have loved you” (John 13:34). The love He teaches does not come from convenience. It calls us to treat others with grace, even when our hearts are tired.
Persevering in love does not mean accepting everything without wisdom. It also does not ask us to ignore wounds. The love of Christ holds to truth, corrects pride, and keeps our hearts from becoming hard.
In 1 John 4:7, Scripture says, “let us love one another: for love is of God.” This word leads us to look within. When love grows cold, something important in our walk with God needs care.
Every day, we need to ask the Lord for a teachable heart. Loving as Jesus taught is only possible when we remain close to Him.
Prayer
Lord, help us love as You teach. Guard our hearts from coldness and pride. Teach us to remain in Your love, even when it is difficult. In Jesus’ name, amen.
