The Spirit of God Dwells in You

The presence of the Holy Spirit calls us to live before God with greater awareness, sincerity, and surrender.

Devotional

Sometimes we seek God as though He were far away. We pray in difficult moments, ask for direction, and wait for some sign that we have been heard.

Scripture helps us look at this more carefully. In 1 Corinthians 3:16, Paul writes, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

This truth calls us to live with greater awareness before the Lord. The Holy Spirit dwells in those who belong to Christ. This reaches what we think, what we choose, and the way we deal with what still needs to be changed in us.

God’s presence should not be remembered only in moments of need. If the Spirit dwells in us, all of life is lived before Him. What we hide from people is still known by God. What we try to carry alone can be surrendered to Him.

This truth also brings rest. Walking with God does not depend on spiritual appearance. It depends on a heart that yields to the Lord and learns to hear His voice through Scripture.

Every day, we need to remember that God is near. The Holy Spirit calls us to a real walk with Christ, in ordinary life, in simple decisions, and in the places where the heart still needs to be transformed.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, help us live aware of Your presence. Show us what needs to be surrendered to the Lord, and teach us to walk with Christ in everyday life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
