Live Guided by the Holy Spirit, He Leads Life.

Life with God needs the guidance of the Holy Spirit, because the heart does not always recognize the right way on its own.

Devotional

Many times, we try to overcome our weaknesses by willpower alone. We make promises, try to control impulses, and believe that making better decisions will be enough to change everything.

But Scripture calls us to a deeper path.

In Galatians 5:16, it is written: “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

This verse leads us to look at the place where our decisions begin. When the heart walks without God’s direction, it becomes more vulnerable to its own desires. What seemed small begins to shape thoughts, choices, and reactions.

Living guided by the Holy Spirit means learning to submit life to God in everyday moments. This happens through Scripture, sincere prayer, and the willingness to be corrected by the Lord.

The Holy Spirit does not lead the heart away from Christ. He draws us near to Jesus and helps us recognize what needs to change within us.

Every day, we need to ask God for sensitivity to hear His direction. Without this guidance, faith becomes tired effort. With the Spirit, the heart learns to walk with greater truth before the Father.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, guide our hearts in truth. Teach us to live according to God’s direction and help us remain near to Jesus. In Jesus’ name, amen.

16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
