Truth Sets Free, and Truth Has a Name

True freedom begins when the heart knows Jesus and remains in His Word. Christ brings us out of the lie that binds, the guilt that weighs us down, and an empty faith that speaks of God without surrendering to His truth.

Devotional

In John 8:32, Jesus said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

This word reaches deep places in our life. Many prisons begin within the heart. There are fears that rule decisions, guilt that returns in silence, lies we accept about ourselves, and desires that seem small but end up guiding our steps.

Jesus also said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

The truth that sets free has a name. It is Christ. He did not come only to correct our thoughts about God. He came to bring light to the heart, show what needs to be left behind, and lead our life back to the Father.

Sometimes we want freedom while keeping truth away from our choices. We want peace, but we hold on to thoughts, habits, and paths that keep wounding the soul. The Word of Jesus calls us to remain in Him, because the freedom He gives is born from a living relationship with Him.

Christ sets free without crushing the heart. He reveals the lie that held us and calls us into a more truthful life before God.

Every day, we need to draw near to Jesus with sincerity. His truth reaches what we try to hide and heals what lies have wounded.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, lead our hearts by Your truth. Free us from the lies that keep us away from You, and teach us to remain in Your Word with sincerity. In Jesus’ name, amen.
