Let Christ Govern Your Life

Christ’s presence reaches the areas where we still want to decide everything for ourselves. Living by faith requires us to place our desires before Him. His will confronts our choices and reveals who has occupied the center of our lives.

Devotional

Galatians 2:20 shows Paul recognizing that his former way of life had been taken to the cross with Christ. He still faced weakness. His identity and direction were now joined to the Son of God.

This passage reaches the part of the heart that wants to remain in control. We can say that we follow Jesus while protecting decisions we do not want to submit to Him. We may seek approval because it makes us feel secure. We can also treat a desire as essential and become frustrated when God closes a door.

Letting Christ govern us requires that we admit this resistance. The Holy Spirit reveals what we have been excusing and helps us obey when God’s will challenges our preference. Galatians 5:16 reminds us that walking by the Spirit reaches ordinary life, where simple choices reveal who is leading us.

This work continues as we walk with Jesus. Some areas are easier to surrender. Others remain guarded because of fear or attachment. The Lord knows this struggle and deals truthfully with the heart.

Consider the part of your life where you insist on having the final word. Bring it honestly to Christ and ask His presence to guide your decision.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, show me where I still resist Your will. Govern my choices by Your Spirit and teach me to live by faith with a heart willing to obey. In Jesus’ name, amen.
