Feed Your Mind with Truth

Philippians 4:8 directs our thoughts toward what is true and worthy before God. This instruction speaks to a tired mind that faces a daily stream of news and opinions through many different screens.

Some content appears harmless. Yet what we repeat inwardly begins to shape how we interpret what happens around us. We may start expecting the worst and measuring our worth by the approval we receive. When this process goes unnoticed, the mind loses clarity and the heart reacts before it discerns.

Caring for our thoughts requires us to recognize what has been allowed to remain. Psalm 119:37 asks God to turn our eyes away from what has no value and preserve our lives in His way. This prayer helps us admit that some habits need to stop so Scripture can regain its place.

Jesus teaches us to face reality through truth. His Word acknowledges pain and keeps fear from becoming our only interpretation. As you notice what you have been taking in and the effect it has had on you, bring your thoughts before the Lord. He can correct what has weakened your faith.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

37 ¶ Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; [and] quicken thou me in thy way.
