Lead People to Jesus

In 2 Corinthians 5:18-20, Paul says that God has entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation. We are ambassadors for Christ because we carry a message that began with God and points to what Jesus has done.

This calling requires care in the way we take up space. We may want someone to know Christ while speaking impatiently or seeking recognition for what we do. When vanity enters, attention shifts toward us and the gospel becomes harder to see.

Some people begin moving toward faith after watching how we respond when challenged or when someone needs attention. Matthew 5:16 shows that our works can lead others to glorify God. This reaches ordinary life, where the character of Christ must appear without performance.

We may also feel afraid to speak because we think we are not prepared. God can use an honest life that is still being formed and knows its dependence on grace. Bearing witness to Jesus includes admitting our limits and remaining available.

Think of someone God has placed near you. Ask for wisdom to welcome that person and live in a way that agrees with the reconciliation you have received in Christ.

18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
