Renew What Feeds Your Mind

Romans 12:2 speaks of transformation through the renewing of the mind. These words reach a quiet part of our lives, where repeated thoughts can begin shaping our reactions before we even notice what is happening.

Every day, we take in messages that can feed anxiety or comparison. Some may seem harmless, yet they can leave us feeling that we never have enough or that everything must stay under our control for us to feel secure. When these ideas remain unchecked, they begin affecting our choices and the way we see ourselves.

God’s Word helps us examine what we have accepted as true. Philippians 4:8 directs our attention toward what is true and worthy before God. This helps us face real problems without allowing worry to govern our minds.

Renewing the mind requires returning to Scripture and allowing Christ to correct the way we interpret our lives. Over time, old thoughts lose their authority as they are confronted by the character of Jesus.

Consider what has occupied your mind lately. You may need to step away from a source of unrest or reconsider an idea you accepted without noticing. Bring it before the Lord and allow His Word to reshape what has been guiding you within.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
