Living Simple

Jesus did not make life with God complicated. He showed us that the way is love, justice, humility, and mercy.

Devotional

Faith in Jesus was never meant to be complicated.

People are the ones who made it harder over time, filling it with rules, appearances, and religious ideas that often push people away from God instead of bringing them closer to Him.

Jesus lived simply. He walked with ordinary people, spoke clearly, welcomed others, taught them, and showed them the heart of the Father. He did not call people into a cold religion. He called people to follow Him and to live in Him.

A lot of people think living with God means stepping into a system full of pressure and demands. But Jesus showed something different. In Matthew 22:37–39, He summed up what matters most: love God and love your neighbor. That shows us that the center of spiritual life is not in the complications people create, but in love.

Living simple is living in Jesus.

It is knowing His love.

It is walking with Him.

It is treating people with mercy.

It is living with humility before God.

It is practicing justice in everyday life.

Micah 6:8 was already pointing to that path when it says that God asks us to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him. And in the New Covenant, Jesus confirmed that with His life and with His words.

Whoever lives in Christ does not need a faith built on appearances to be close to God. They need a sincere heart, willing to live what is true.

Today, live simple.

Live the love of Christ.

Live the Word.

Live a life with God that is real.

That is where everything begins.

Prayer

Lord, teach me to live simple. Remove from me everything that pulls me away from the truth of Your heart. Teach me to live in Jesus with love, justice, humility, and mercy. Amen.
