Show Jesus with Your Life, Life Speaks

A life reached by Christ communicates more than carefully chosen words. Witness appears when faith touches our attitudes, corrects our reactions, and makes visible in everyday life what Jesus is forming in the heart.

Devotional

In Matthew 5:16, Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

This word reaches ordinary life. Jesus speaks of a light that can be seen, not to draw attention to us, but so the Father may be glorified.

Speaking about Jesus has value. Still, our life also speaks. It speaks in the way we treat those who oppose us, in how we handle truth, in what we do when no one is watching, and in the choices we make when another path would be easier.

Many times, we want to witness with words, while resisting when God touches our character, our pride, our impatience, or our lack of forgiveness. The light of Christ needs to reach those places as well.

Faith does not need to become religious appearance. It needs to become real in everyday life. A life transformed by Jesus is not perfect, but it begins to reveal a heart that surrenders to Him with sincerity.

Some people may not stop to listen to an explanation about God. Even so, they watch how we live. This should not place us under a burden, but before responsibility.

Every day, we need to ask God for consistency. May our life speak of Christ with truth, without pretending and without seeking recognition.

Prayer

Lord, may our life speak of You with truth. Form in us a heart that looks more like Christ, and help us live with consistency before the Father. In Jesus’ name, amen.
