In John 10:16, Jesus said, “they shall hear my voice.”
This word shows the care of Christ for people who were still far away, yet would be reached by Him. The Good Shepherd knows those who are His, even before they fully understand His call.
Many people come to Jesus at different moments in life. Some come wounded. Others are tired from trying to find meaning in places that cannot sustain the soul. Some carry honest questions and still do not know how to draw near to God.
The voice of Jesus is not like the noise that pressures, accuses, or manipulates. His voice calls with truth. When Christ touches the heart, something begins to become clear within. A person starts to see the need for Him, the inability to lead life alone, and the rest found in following His steps.
This does not remove every doubt at once. It also does not mean the path becomes easy. But those who learn to hear Jesus begin to recognize the Shepherd’s direction in the middle of uncertainty.
Every day, we need to silence the voices that pull us away from Christ. His voice continues calling the heart near, with patience and care.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, give us sensitivity to recognize Your voice. Guard our hearts from the voices that draw us away from You, and teach us to follow Your steps with trust. In Jesus’ name, amen.
