The New Covenant in Christ
The Lord’s Supper brings us back to the sacrifice of Jesus and reminds us that our fellowship with God was established through His surrender. As we remember the cross, the heart returns to the grace that sustains faith.

In 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Paul recalls the words Jesus spoke on the night He was betrayed. The bread points to His body given for us, and the cup reminds us of the blood poured out in the new covenant.
The Lord’s Supper brings us face to face with the cost of reconciliation. Our guilt was not overlooked. Christ bore it and opened the way for us to live in fellowship with God. This remembrance reaches those who have grown familiar with the language of faith and no longer feel the weight of the cross.
We are also called to examine our hearts. We may come to the table while holding on to pride or avoiding a needed reconciliation. Christ’s table reminds us that we all depend on the same grace. No one draws near through personal merit.
In Luke 22:19-20, Jesus tells His disciples to do this in remembrance of Him. That memory must reach daily life. The forgiveness we have received teaches us to release harshness and care for our fellowship with other believers.
Routine may have weakened your gratitude for the sacrifice of Jesus. Turn your attention to the cross. Remember that your hope rests in the covenant established by Christ, and allow that truth to shape your relationships.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, keep the memory of Your sacrifice alive within me. Let the new covenant shape my heart and the way I live with others. In Jesus’ name, amen.
